Hi. What i need is a program (or some kind of hax) that will allow me to leave the computer to compress a load of movie files generated by FRAPS. I need this, as Avid dosnt like fraps video files, an everytime i import, they just go blank with some audio (if you have a fix for this even better). But basicly, i need something that will let me convert like 50 files into another format, without the tedium of having to do it manually. kthx.

So you want to Dub some videos in some kind of Virtual environment using Jobs?

As for FRAPS, you're stuck with the FRAPS codec for the source video (make sure you encode with something else, regular users can't download a standalone FRAPS codec installer). If it's VFW you're fine. If it's a DS codec you're in trouble.

Well all i want to do is to compress videos in batch to a different codec, rather than the FRAPS one.

Ive checked doo9, could you elaborate on what i have to do in the program?

Have you looked into Windows Media Encoder? It's batching isn't perfect, but with a little work I'm sure you'll be able to do what you need with it. I'm just not too sure if it'll read the Fraps codec, though if WMP does, it should too.

Well there are several programs on there, the one you probably need is (as Michalson hinted at) VirtualDub. There are a load of tutorials on how to get started on there as well - takes a bit of work but it's worth it. It should be able to recognize the FRAPS codec & recompress to xvid or whatever format you want it in, amongst other things including jobs (figure out exactly what you need to do for one file first though)

A program I've used to re-encode groups of video that Michalson was (not quite subtlely) hinting at is VirualDub

Specifically, setup your video (open the file, select compression and other settings), then in the save as dialog, check the "don't process this immediately, add it to the job list". You can then proceed to open other files/modify settings and "save" them in the same way, then go to job control farther down on the file menu to be able to do jobs in batch.
