Does anyone know of a way to tell Windows to set the global volume to on or off, either through a api call or (even better) with a single key press ? I''m trying to debug some sound stuff and of course whenever the program stops the sound goes on a 3/4 second sound loop, which is driving me bonkers....Obviously I could open and use the volume control panel to turn the sound on and off, but that isn''t particularly quick to do, when I''m toggling it every minute. cheers dan Game production: Good, quick, cheap: Choose two.

Heeh the title of your thread made me think that you were messing with RAID or some sort of drive stripping

I unfortunetly don''t know the answer to your question, but you may want to report with a less ambigous topic. Diabling Sound Volume maybe

There is a dsound call to control the volume, and a winmm call to. Also, i think there''s dsound call to stop the buffer play back, which may be more useful
