I have had a request from a publisher that he wants to sign a NDA before he will look at my games pitch, also a level designer that is currently working at a games studio is interested in joining my studio, he wants to know more about my title before he makes a decision, he has requested more information about my game, he has requested a NDA so he can find out more about the project. So I need 2 NDAs, one for a publisher and one for a level designer. Are there any available that I can download, I can find a general NDA and i guess I could adapt it, I just wondered if there was any online that I could use for my purpose as I'm sure this is a general document that is often use that there may exist already for the use off that I download and forward on to these people that have asked for them.

If you are beginning talks with a publisher, chances are you are about to embark on a very expensive, multi-year path.

Find a good lawyer. There is no excuse not to have one at this point.

I seem to remember that the UK has lots of sub-divisions of lawyers depending on their type, where a trial lawyer US is roughly a Barrister UK, or somesuch. So translate that to whatever legal person is appropriate.

For not much money (mine is $125USD/hr) you ought to be able to spend about an hour discussing everything you should know about, and get all the forms (including NDAs) that you would want. You'd probably also what to find out about the requirements you are going to face for incorporating or making a DBA or LLC or whatever else, if you haven't already.

An NDA is a fairly standard legal agreement. It doesn't really matter what the business is because all it does is bind the two parties to keep whatever confidential information they exchange, confidential. If you PM me your email address I will send you a copy of the NDA I use.

Not all NDAs are written in a two-way manner (aka "Mutual NDA"). Many firms will first offer you sign their 'template', which is usually a one-way version that only protects them. Something to watch for before you sign.

I sent info to the publisher and he got all nervous and said he hasn't looked and cant until an NDA, I've contacted a lot of publishers and he is the first to talk of a NDA, I guess he may of been sued by a developer in the past and wants to cover himself. Ill mail him to see if he want me to send him one or if he is planning to send one to me.

The other one is for a member of potential staff so its one way NDA.
