hi all., ive made a java program that uses swing. however the cmd window (this is windows xp btw) keeps hangin around (the old dos-ish window if i didnt manage to make that clear). anybody know how i can get rid of it? thanks :)

When exactly does it hang? when you run javac or java or somewhere else?

No, he's saying that a console window is generated in addition to his Swing GUI when the application is run.

The solution is to run javaw.exe instead of java.exe
