I plan on writing a 2D physics engine, and don't know where to start. Are there any tutorials out there that can lead me on the right track and help me code it correctly?

I dont think theres anything that specific...physics is a very diverse subject and to write a tutorial on it for a physics engine for 2d would be...not useful to many people I should say ;) Though I did write a 2d physics engine for an old sidescroller, you could take a look if you like? Hope that helps!

Chris Hecker's articles would be a very good place to start, not only because they cover the material in a clear and methodical manner, but because all the equations are presented in their 2d form before proceeding to 3d.

This website has some really well written and detailed explinations that are all presented in a 2D framework (even rigid body simulation).

Good luck!
