Why is it that people who choose not to receive PMs are allowed to send them? I was sent a rather unpleasant PM, but could not respond to it, because the sender had not deigned to receive them. Doesn't this system allow people to harrass others with impunity (although that wasn't the case in the above exchange)?

Report inappropriate PMs to a moderator/staff and they'll usually take care of it. I'm not sure you'd go about doing this, other than sending a PM to one of them. It would be nice to have a "Report Abuse" button on the PM page (though in some regards, having moderators be able to view PMs might seem like infringement of privacy - Washu's tentacles shouldn't be in everything...)

Send me the abusive PM (including userid that sent it), I'll see that it's dealt with.

I agree that letting the staff/moderators handle it would be the wisest decision.

We can't, it's something the staff will deal with. You can still feel free contact your favorite moedator and we'll pass the matter on though if you're recieving abusive PMs or PM spam. If you want to report such an abuse, let us know which account sent it (username or account id - a profile link would be perfect).
