Actually that's pretty goddamned weird. Maybe some kind of crack attempt.

I talked to him and he said that someone exploited a bug in phpBB, I believe and is using all the user info for spamming. It sucks, but I made sure he wasn't pushing porn [wink].

Take a look at the complaint email address: raymond@etherealdarness.com

There's a "k" missing.

That's meaningless--likely a typo in a configuration value. If you backtrace etherealdarkness.com you'll see that the message does indeed originate from there.

That's because they spoofed the email header. And they botched the complaint address so that EDI wouldn't get cued in quickly to what was happening.
