Hello Everyone, I am new to these forums (in terms of Posting), I've been reading them for a while. I am trying to accomplish something... I want to create a simple game lobby similar to that of MSN Gaming Zone. Basic features? A main lobby chat, inside the main window you can create rooms, host can boot people from their rooms, and launch the game. Once the game is launched, it should synchronize with Age of Empires (the first one). I think I can create a simple chat client, however, how would I go about launching the AOE for everyone, with the multiplayer game room setup? I know it uses Peer to Peer..so there isn't really a dedicated server needed...except to host the actual client itself (which can be web integrated). Any, and all help appreciated. Regards, Baggy.

A decent lobby server is a bit of work to write. I know, because I recently wrote one! Once you've got one of those, you will have some sort of 'game starting now' event that gets sent to all the clients when the game owner says so, and at that point you need to launch AoE with whatever parameters you need to give it.
