Is there some game site companies which are interested in new games for their websites and have stardard procedures for evaluating the games and then possibly bying them from the game creator?
Er, what do you want them to *do* with the games? Sell them to customers? Offer them as free downloads? Or review them? Or something else... You'll have to be a bit more specific, unless there are any mind-readers on the forum.

Who said that? Who are you talking to? Where was it that this person said that?

>what I wonder is what the best way is to start making a profit on game development if you are an only developer, maybe selling flash/java games to some game site on the web I thought?

My FAQ 60 might provide some new insights into this for you. Go to my website, click the yellow box, read FAQ 60.

I suspect he's refering to this part of the Marmin's post:

There seems to be a Huge gap in organisation/advertising between semi-commercial, and commercial game releases. Please feedback.

The reality is that there's no such gap; every segment of the distribution chain is pretty well filled by now.

As for the original question:

Yes, there are (see the list of sites I listed in the thread Tom linked to for a first stab at it). However, the quality bar keeps going up, and it's less and less likely that a single man team can compete in that market any more.

It's rare that the game is 'bought from the game creator' by the site; it's usually handled as a distribution (i.e. they help you sell your game, then split the profit with you), rather than a IP transfer.

You might want to talk to some of the sites doing flash-games, driven by ad revenue instead. The quality bar hasn't gone quite as far yet, and there's still room for really small teams to compete.

Good luck,

Allan
