In the spirit of the "Let's play silent storm" thread, but more 56K friendly, I propose we have a game of scrabble. I don't even know how to upload images, so I'll need some help here. I volunteer to draw the tiles, playing standard "Duplicate Scrabble" rules so we can have lots of players. Basically, 7 tiles are drawn (first 15 racks must have 2 vowels and 2 consonants), everyone competes for the highest scoring move. Everyone scores their own score but the highest value word is placed on the board. I'll limit entries to 1 per day per person, PM me with your words. I'll only post my score, not the word (to keep things fair) and have one try per day. Scores and winning word posted each day. All words must state grid reference (H8 is the middle square) and whether they go across or down. Here's the first rack: I've got a word worth 38 points (remember, it's a double word score first go and I also used a double letter score). I'll draw one rack a day at midnight UK time, if I am online. I'll keep a running score too. All words in my dictionary count (Collins Concise 3rd edition 1992 - even foreign words if they're not italicised, so US spellings count too) unless a good argument is made for a valid word (i.e. newer and not in dict, but widely known). Note: LOL is not a legal word! Who's in?
