Well I'm finally at the point where I've broke down and started small, so I have a little 2d retro-feel game I'm working up called StarLok. The first demo is available for download here, and I'd be interested in knowing what people think off-hand: starlok.com It is really in desparate need of documentation though, which I'm working on right now. I'll be posting it all up into the forum first, before the in-game help is available (in the next release). Basically you simply have to navigate around and capture the stars, which trying not to hit things (or other players). The more things you have linked up to your player at once, the higher the multipler for the scored points. Here is a screenshot: (yes, the blur is because I don't actually wipe the screen clean each frame, but blend it down each time - intentional) screenie [Edited by - Ranger_One on June 6, 2006 8:17:06 PM]

OK, i figured this much out.

you're the red one. you can start by pressing "z". if you touch the gold ones you die. if you don't touch the gold ones you die a bit less fast.

Is there a way to stay alive?

I like the concept by the way, very original. And it runs smooth.

I started up some external documentation here (yay!):

Playing the Game Forum

Well, just playing by myself I can stay alive indefinitely. I'm going to assume the controls are at issue here, so I'll just explain them:

Z = Jump (speed doubler)
X = Shield (6 seconds or so of protection, depending on how much you get hit)
C = Capture (Capture stars to earn points)
V = Special (Not implemented yet)

Let me know if that doesn't help, cause I can give you simple stay-alive advice easy enough :)
