Hi all. Im new to the forums of GameDev and i decided to finally start posting here. I joined because i(along with my friends) plan on being future game developers. Im probably one of the younger people here, but decided i should make some friends. My group of friends and I have started designing a game called Nylandia. It's an MMORPG. We also have our own projects and are deciding on a company name. Either DNA Games or Stoopid MunkE games. That's about me and im happy to be apart of the community.

I am the Sinistar! Welcome to your DOOM!

Well, the forums aren't that bad. Ask tons of questions. And have fun!

We're looking forward to it. MMORPG's are the project of choice for new upstarts here. Which is so wonderful - takes all the boring bits out of the industry. But please, don't spell Sttopid with a single p - if you're going to adopt your company name as a public faceholder, at least make it a literate one.

Thanks guys. After Nylandia we plan on working on our own projects within our "company" and that kind of thing. I'll try to post often.

Quiet! I'm trying to find out what will happen if one of these groups is given only constant praise and affection during their miserable failure journey.

hehe. I never said we'd go through with it;) i just said we were working on it. Plus we can make it just an RPG if the MMO version doesnt work. I have goals and dreams and i'll go for them and im going to try my hardest.

Having goals and dreams are fine as long as their relatively attainable. I have a dream of being a superhero but it ain't gonna happen. [wink] [lol]

Making unattainable goals will only result in frustration and cause you to chuck all the work you do into the trash because you can't complete it.

Why? That link leads to one of the most absolutely useless posts I have ever seen. The vast majority of those issues primarily apply to already well established monthly style commercial MMO's with decent sized user bases. And what the hell does he mean by "[The following is] based on my experiences working with Asheron's Call." Alexander Jhin had absolutely nothing to do with the development of Asheron's Call. He was involved exclusively postproduction and as a "Community and Events Coordinator". What a joke.

That post is even more laughable given the fact that ASHERON'S CALL WAS AN INDIE DEVELOPED MMO
