Seeing how some people expressed regret at not being able to make the last lunch, lets have another meeting soon. I'm thinking somewhere halfway through august, so I'm just going to propose three dates, and we'll see who can make which one. 1. Fri 11 August, dinner/evening 2. Sat 12 August, lunch 3. Thu 17 August, dinner/evening or lunch (only an hour though, as some have to work) Myself, I'd prefer option 1.

I can't do either of the first two, 17th Aug is the only one of those I can make.

Sorry

I can make it any day, but the evening is better..

Sounds like the 17th is the best option then, and I'd suggest the evening.

I'll arrange a formal meeting this weekend.

Any good ideas for where to meet? We could do dinner somewhere? And after that a pub. Because of health reasons I would very much prefer a quiet place, if anyone knows a good place?

Somewhere which has a garden:

- Head of the River - nice location, gets really busy
- Turf - worse location, gets even busier (late licence I think)
- The White house - crap beer, expensive food, excellent garden
- Angel & Greyhound - a little bit further out of town, reasonable garden, nice Young's pub
- Kings Arms - In town, but limited outdoor seating; not in a quiet location (i.e. on the street) (late licence)
- Far From the Madding Crowd - no garden but good in other respects. Late licence.

I'm open to other suggestions too.

I vote against the KA - it's overpriced and usually packed full - and the Turf won't be good for an evening, this is sadly true. FFMC might be good provided there was nothing theatrical going on earlier in the day (if there was then it'll be full of thesps).

The Gloc would be a laugh but is probably not some people's cup of tea [grin]

One place that has outside seating, is not generally that busy, and does food, is The Old School. You get a stunning view of... Gloucester Green bus station, but it's not too bad. Food's a little overpriced and pretentious but not bad quality.

It's just come to my attention that the meeting in London is on the 18th of August. Since I'm planning to go there, and I know a few others of you are as well, I think it's better to move the Oxford meet two weeks.

So I'll suggest a few new dates:
1. Thu 31 August, dinner/evening or lunch (only an hour though, as some have to work)
2. Fri 1 September, dinner/evening
3. Sat 2 September, lunch or dinner

All of these are fine for me, please let me know your preferences.

The current plan is to have food at Tootsie (in the renovated prison site), and depending on day/time go to the Honeypot (towards the trainstation) afterwards.

I think there is a mistake on your dates. Saturday 2 doesn't exist.I think you wanted to write Sat 2 September.
I could not make it for any of these dates simply because, it will be the end of the term and I would probably not be in Oxford.

Whoops, fixed now.

How do you mean end of term? I thought the term only starts in Oktober?

2. Fri 25 August, dinner/evening
2. Sat 26 August, lunch or dinner

All are fine for me.

I vote not the Thursday... I'd rather not have to dash off after an hour.
