I've been out of the loop of game development for a good year or so now, so I've lost track of the developments since then. Is Unmanaged C++ still going to be a viable option for DirectX development in the future? Like when DX10 is released? Or is it going to be managed/dotnet only? Anybody know?

DirectX 10 will be all unmanaged code. Therefore, most developers will use C++ for DirectX 10 developement.

However, you may want to check out the announcements on XNA. The XNA framework will allow you to write cross platform games (PC and X-Box 360) using C# and the managed XNA libraries. I'm assuming MS will support the other managed languages in the future (J#, Managed C++, VB .NET, etc).

Thanks!

Thats what I wanted to know. I'm going to stick with unmanaged C++ and DX10 when its available.

Haha, I got voted down 20 points in my forum ranking for asking this question. Good old Gamedev.net. How I've missed you.
