Today I downloaded a newer driver from the nVidia website. Right after that, my game ran 30 frames slower, and the HDR was fubar. First I thought I changed something recently, so I started looking for the problem. The measurement of the average luminance for tone-mapping went wrong, the luminance was much lower, although at some strange spots it was high. I also found out that this was the problem of the slowdown. I'm downscaling the scene 3 times: - Render the original FBO on a quad, but now in a smaller buffer (64x64) - Render the result from the previous buffer to an even smaller buffer (16x16) - Again, but now in a 4x4 buffer This went wrong, and was slow... why? I uninstalled the new driver and got back to 81.95. Thank god, everything was ok again. But I wonder what could be wrong... 30 frames slower and strange graphics because of an update that is supposed to make things better... Anyone experience with that? Greetings, Rick

Check the display settings like color depth and vsync, this is like something that has happened to me before.

i just recently got the new drivers and also got a video capture driver as well. When i installed the new drivers i didn't reboot, and then i additionally installed the capture driver. When I then rebooted after that, my monitor would turn off when it got past the "xp" screen.

Luckily i just did a safe-mode driver roll back and then installed them properly.

My point is it might be something you aren't even realizing is a problem.

i downloaded that driver 2 days ago. Got problems with varios games. They are slower now. I did check all configurations but found nothing. Oblivion is slower, FarCry has errors in the grafics (black ground surfaces, wrong lightning ect.)
I willl roll back that driver as well.
