EDIT: Team name: CS Dev. Team Project name: CyberStorm Brief description: A MMO Text Based Game set in the near future emphasizing AI. After the world was nearly destroyed its up to you to command a colony and survive the CyberStorm! Target aim: Free online MMO Compensation: No pay, the game is free sorry. Technology: We use: Photoshop, 3D Max 7(for still pics and the movie), notepad++ for html and php, etc Talent needed: Anyone willing to help is welcome. Team structure: 1-2 programmers, 3-4 GFX guys, 2 3D modelers, 1 consept artist and soon to be an official photographer (that we dont really need...) Website: http://cs.megamanrm.com ( real domain comming soon) Contacts: At bottom of post Additional Info: read below This isn't really a help ad, we dont need help but I would just like to see if anyone is maybe interested in pitching out. About a month and a half ago me and a friend decided we where going to make a text-based MMO game in php. We needed a project to sink our effort into and we needed an excuse to learn php. Within 2 days we had a story idea and thus the cyber storm began. Before you read on, below is the pre-game story line, read it and see if it sounds interesting to you. If it doesn't sound interesting I thank you for your time. The one thing I dont want is a bunch of people comming in thinking they can sign there name and own my project. The reason I say this is we just had the other php coder besides myself get banned. I did something he didnt like in the code and it pissed him off so he hacked the server and deleted all his work.... Anyway thats not important, if you are still reading ill assume this has cought your eye. As said before I really just want to get the word out, we dont need any more developers, this is a big project but we just have most positions covered. Congratulations on being the first poster I know of to play "hard to get", in order to make your project more attractive to other developers. It works in bars, I'm sure it will work great in game forums.

Even though you apparently don't want anyone else to join your team, I'm sure you still need to use the template.

Lol, sorry about template I updated my post. The main reason for the hard to get act is again that hot shot php guy that was on the team got on there and thought he owned the project... Just dont want a reapeat of that.

lol, I have that game, it's really old. And it sucked. But of course you are creating a brand new game not related. Looks cool

lol, yeah I noticed that when looking at google searchs, cyber storm is the name of some old game. Which isn't very bad but will make it hard to get up in the google listings. Anyway im going to be spending the next few days planning out how everything is going to work ( trade, battle system, economy, etc. ).

As far as the music goes, I listened to nurk's works. As far as in game we dont need any but one of the big sub projects is going to be an intro movie, completely 3D randered. We could possibly use your help there, the problem is that sub project is on hold. See I have many positions (Founder, project manager, Master site designer / coder) and most important the main php coder (of 2 total). So until the game is actuially playable to my likings I am going to focus on actuially making the game. Its kinda important hehe.

But please if you want join the forum and post around, its mostly Developement talk right now and when we start working on the movie I will pm / email you, cant wait the songs sounded good.

Man I just have to say, I remimber coming here around 6 months ago in awe, wishing I could talk on your guys's level. Man how things change.

Actually, they could shut your whole thing down assuming they cared enough. They have that name copyrighted and all sorts of other legal claims on it. I would suggest either contacting them or changing your name before you go to far. If you become popular, it will draw attention and eventually the attention of the company's lawyers. It happens with Mario clones, Tetris clones, and all sorts of other indie games that use names/characters from other games.

Otherwise it sounds pretty cool. I'd like to get into a text-based game sometime. It'd be like playing D&D again. :)
