My PC that I bougth 2005 is working slow. It delays for several seconds. Can you help me? I (want to)/must fix this. What can cause this? Someone who also have experienced this?

Do you have spyware\antivirus? If not, get some and run. If so, update and run.
Do you have many processes running in the background? Do many start on startup?
Do you have applications like Limewire installed?
Have you been getting error messages? Low Virtual Memory warnings?

Adn, just in case, have you a large magnet to hand?

Run a decent virus/adware scanner, check your free space and virtual memory settings, and make sure your hard drive isn't dying (with some SMART tool like SpeedFan).

Smells like an Intel Celeron to me.

Either buy more RAM, or get rid of Norton. It sucks up power like nothing else I've seen.

It wasn't like this before.

I don't see Norton in the task manager.

How long has it been like this? Has it been slow since you got it (or since you installed Norton)? If so, you should probably get more RAM or get an anti-virus that takes less RAM (assuming Norton is hogging RAM).

If it's just recently started doing this, it's probably some sort of virus or background process. Make sure Norton is updated and run a full scan. Also, get something sort of antispyware program, such as Spybot S&D.

If you're really desperate you could reformat your hard drive and reinstall Windows; that should fix just about any software problem. That's probably not necessary, though, and it's a lot of work to back up all your data and re-install everything. Also, if you do this, make sure you have a Windows install CD!

How many processes are in Task Manager? See if any have excessive amounts under the CPU Time column. (You might have to go to View->Select Columns to enable that one.)

Also, when it's being slow and delaying, is the hard drive activity light of your computer on a lot?

I recently reformated my main hard-drive(160GB) to one big C:, and reinstalled Windows XP.

I think there's something wrong with this computer.
Anyone that have experienced the same?
Is this a known problem?
Have it happened to others?

The problem was that Tread Marks had no graphics, the screen was just black.
But then I know that was after I replaced two folders "entities" and "scores"
in the game dir that I saved from before the formatting.
But then I got it that they was from the demo, so I changed it back, and now working.

But Tread Marks black screen was the main problem, now solved.
