Boy... I never knew creating Tetris would make me so tired! I like spend 1/2 - 1 hour making it and it kills me!!!! Any suggestions?

stevenmarky got it in one - take a break. You'll work better if your mind and body aren't worn out, so a short break can often be a good idea if you find you're having trouble concentrating or are feeling worn down from working at programming something. Get away from the computer entirely and do something else for a little while - something physical would be excellent, but anything that isn't using the computer or thinking about the problem will do.

Just make sure you go back to working on your game after the break, or you'll become unproductive. [wink]

And don't expect anything to take 1/2 - 1 hour. Major projects can take months, even years. You don't code it all in one sitting, of course, you need to take breaks.

Just keep at it.

I been using loose leaf paper to plan out a theoretical tetris game design :) Its got quite alot of things to cover. Still got alot of planning to do. Try to work on one small part of the project a night.

1 hour is seriously nothing when developing games, if your getting tired now game dev isn't for you...

lol, I didn't want to sound like an ass, but yes...take a break, and look back on the tetris clone, smile at it, lick it, chew it, eat it up. Grats, but where are the screenshots/videos?

If you're the kind of person that can't be idle yet has trouble focusing on something for an extended period of time (No, not A.D.D *chuckles*) try switching between tasks regularily. Perferably, go from a mentally intensive one, to a more physical task.

For example, right now, I program for a bit and then go work on things that need to be done around the house, or play guitar, or work on some do-it-yourself project like painting a room, building a light box for photography, erecting a clay statue of a troll named Fabio, building a coffin to hold food in on Halloween... OK.. maybe I only do strange things like that - but you get the drift. Use a completely different part of your brain. Let all that code sink in and stew. When you return you should feel patient and ready to rock out some more "if's" "whiles" "ands" "ors" and of course, the more confusing stuff.

Just for a point of comparison, I have personally spent upwards of three hours on single posts to this forum.
