Right now I am using the style="filter:chroma(color);" filter to transparency filter my images but I know that it works for IE only. Is there any way to do the same thing in mozilla/firefox? thx
A JPEG is worth a thousand and twenty four DWORD's. ;)

IE6 doesn't play nice with transparent PNGs... but I guess I could combine it with a chroma filter? or alpha?

My second question would be is there any good free software to make these transparent PNG's?

If it's just a single bit transparency (on or off) you could use 8-bit PNGs (which work fine in IE6) or the more conventional GIF (which should work in anything).

Paint.NET is a good free image editor.
