No one seems to be answering me on tomshardware, so I was wondering if anyone knew here. I got Vista Ultimate awhile back, and when I installed it, everything seemed to be fine. When I tried to play a game however, I was getting much slower frame rates then usual. For instance I played Rise of Nations on high at 1280X1024 with a stable 60 frames with XP, but when I switch over to Vista, I leave at the default settings (which is not all high) at 1280X1024 resolution, and I get 35-37 frames. I looked in Nvidia control panel system information, and it told me my Bus was running at AGP 0X. Is there a driver fix for this, or is this because I only have 1 gb of RAM? edit: I have an AMD Athlon XP 2800+, with 1gb of ram. I have nvidia motherboard drivers installed (except IDE and Gart which i read somewhere don't work) I also tried using the vista display drivers, and nvidias drivers, both with low fps.
