Hi Guys, I am trying to build up a string in a textfield which has an asfunction within it. It looks like this:

text = ""+text+"";

I am trying to get to launch the site in the website variable in a new window, but instead it launches it in the same window with the address as http://www.google.com,_BLANK _BLANK is meant to be the second parameter to getURL but I'm doing something wrong with this asfunction, the way it requires parameters to be specified. Im wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction? Thanks DarkStar UK

Can't you bypass the problem by adjusting your a href statement?

something like this:

text = "<a target='_blank' href='http://" + website + ">Sometext to click upon;

Probably not what you're looking for but I'm no ActionScript expert!
Next time I give my advice, I'll buy some bubblegum so I won't your kick ass!

Thanks StarikKalachnikov,

that worked like a treat. That was such a simple solution, I don't even know why I thought I needed to use the asfunction when pure HTML sufficed.

Kudos once again

Take care
