For those of you that have been down this painful path of exporting an ASE file. How do I match the Sub material to the mesh or face? Thanx in advance. D.V. Edited by - DeltaVee on April 11, 2001 10:02:01 PM

I''ve been down that path...

Can you be more specific about your question? What are you trying to do?

In the ASE file you have a section called Materials. Each Material in the Materials section is indexed/named. i.e. Each Mesh section indexes a material. Thats simple enough.

But.... if a Material has a number of Sub Materials (All the examples I have seen that use Sub Materials have a single material and multiple submaterials) then the meshes material index/name doesn''t match. So I was wondering if anyone has dealt with this situation.
