the things any linux developer shoud know.! here is a simple if statements which looks like most of the linux programmers do not hawe any idea about whatewer it is. so they can take a look at this and may be one day they can make their applications to work without version number spesific requirement. why some applications on linux vorks vith version 1.8.5.9 but not with allmost any other ? are that programmers are realy stupid or are they just joking? if (THE_THING_DOES_NOT_EXISTS){ i=THIS_IS_NOT_THE_END_OF_THE_WORLD(); j=CONTINUE(); }else{ k=CONTINUE(); }

Version restrictions don't exist because developers don't know how to work around them. Your suggestion is really nothing new, and has been used extensively for decades.

Version restrictions exist because developers are not able, or willing, to spend the time and effort necessary to adapt programs to other versions. If you wish to help correct this issue, find a project which has a version restriction, and adapt it to another version on your own free time.

what're you on about? Linux is 2.6 already.

its 2.6 its good but who defines its version?
version sample was for explaining the issue.its not directy about any software.
but alo about any software.
and as a long time analyser? i dont think its corect.
what i see about linux is.
some programmers simply hawe another benefits to make it buggy.
absolutely there is some programmers who realy do good things for that stuffs but this does not chance the truth.

i simply just wanted to point out how easy bugs are happening on linux.

and yes i'll write complete linux when i get enough free time.
and after i lern c++ completely it'll take just some hours .[depending on my analysis but not statistics.anyway it differs on different type of statistics]

but for example if dir library conflicts simply they can use another library or just a little function. why all of them need to be dependend on anoter librariys all funtions to be some.
its just not as it looks like.
and some of linux coders coding style is realy uncowerable.
i think simply they making this hard for other programmers.
as on allmost any work place.

How about learning English completely instead? Then when you get enough free time, maybe you'll be able to type a coherent post.

Are you implying that you could re-write Linux in a few hours?

So you mean write code to handle every possible combination of every version of every required library for a piece of software?

hmmm. it looks like a good idea.
but the problem is i dont hawe time for booth.
i hawe a database which needs to be ready next monday[any monday]
but i still working on it arround 1* years.
it worked arround 3 weeks aftr i completed it before one year and it show up some bugs. i still trying to fix it.[it was vb so i moved it to another language which is faster and more functional.]
edit:i think it was 1-1.5 years.[~end of 2006]*

why not.?
a addon for new relased versions probally will be pretty easy to add support for existing relases.?
for old versions it may be hard but what is the problem with new relases?
and for what the hell they need to use existing libs.anything is open source.
so it cant be too hard to imagine the conflictions.

Because it becomes impractical for anything remotely non-trivial.

You have 3 libraries, each with 4 commonly-used versions. That's 43, or 64 different versions. This isn't workable.

so what will be the difference betweent that 64 wersions.?
are they chancing any varible on it?
if some calls did not ansvers most of the times applications capable to do work without one function/call .
and generally the difference between 2 counted versions is just some add on parameter or functions.

eg: if directory does not exist ask user /if gl.h does not exist try to use just other which do not need gl.h.

and they can inform the user like windows does.
standard windows error message : "line x error. 0 is not a null or object"

this is what windows uses.
windows is not opensource but its informing user about what happens most of the times with detailed informatin.[ok may be sometmes just for themselves]

line x error. 0 is not a null or object

That is a compiler error that you get with ANY compiler regardless of the OS.

The issue you are talking about exists on all OSs, for example Windows games programmers that use DirectX don't develop their games that support all versions of Windows or DirectX.

Linux also provides this information. However, it's useless in most situations, and it can be easily accessed when it's useful.
