Hey, I can NOT get the lighting to work properly in my app... It''s all screwed up and has bands. The code is here... I know, it''s VERY unstructured: http://shadowman131.tripod.com/curcode.cpp Anyway, if you feel like compiling it to see what i mean, then you can get the graphics here: http://shadowman131.tripod.com/graphix.zip I know that the code looks a lot like nehe''s btw, most of it is. I did it to make sure i was doing everything right, and I''m still getting the error. So, thanx in advance for any help. Walt
Hey,
Won't anyone help a poor, unfortunate newbie? lol. Actually I am a newbie... which is also why i ripped off some (oh fine... a lot) of NeHe's code. But no matter how many times I double check my formula for normals and all my parameters for my lighting, nothing seems to work. Thanx again for the help (that doesn't exist right now... grrr).
Walt

P.S.
Here's the links again... (just copy and paste into browser):

It would be nice if you supplied some screenshots in jpeg format of your program, personally im too busy to download someone''s source code & compiling it just for the sakes of seeing what the problem is.

Hey,
Ok, here''s two pictures.

It looks ok from above...

But when you look, all the shadows are in the wrong places, lighting is basically just streaked.

Hey,
Umm... are you people crazy? Look! The lighting and shadows are all in the wrong places... The light is in the very middle of the map, and the shadows are all randomized... At least it looks that way... here, i'll post a compiled version so you people can see for yourself. Controls are the arrow keys, page up, page down, and r.

P.S.
If you don't see the boxes in front of you, hit 'r' until you do. When the boxes show up, look down and then you can move around the landscape.

Hey,
Panic, maybe your card doesn''t support the hardware lighting??? I just downloaded the compiled version for myself, extracted to it''s own folder, and it had lighting for me...

Walt
Downloaded, unzipped, tested......NO LIGHTING!!!!!!
And, yes!! My card supports hardware lighting!! I use it my self!
Ever tryed placing a spot right over the mesh and pointing it downwards so that if the lighting works, you should se the cone?
