Tom's Hardware went on a tour of Gigabyte's headquarters and put up a slideshow showing how motherboards are made. Pretty cool stuff so I thought I'd share

That brings back memories. Before my current occupation (manufactureing engineer at Honeywell programing and maintaining industrial robots). I worked for the electronics division of John Deere setting up the SMT machines. One product we developed used clear flexable circut boards to allow the finnished componet to be folded into a variety of packageing for top of the line John Deere machines. In essence this board was a DOS powered 8MB 486 basied computer complete with VGA video, sound, and some networking chips (laptop basied, and this was back in 1998-ish). Some engineers took the first samples and folded them as tightly as they could, installed Doom and began to play. Quite cool at the time, as the folded up board (a complete PC) could fit into a box of matches and only cost about $4 in materials.
