So... I'm sure many (if not most) of you know this already, but someone still has to post it here for the remaining minority who yet have to enjoy this fantastic game [smile] DISCLAIMER: this is going to ruin your productivity today. And the day after, and possibly a couple more days after that. http://onemorelevel.com/game/fantastic_contraption On a technical note, I find the physics engine quite amazing and robust. It allows to do a LOT of things, just be creative. Check out youtube for some crazy player crafted solutions to each puzzle. Have a nice day :)

your level 13 is nice!

oh yeah, I love this game. The only problem is, I forget what levels my solutions go to. I tend to like to do "powerless" solutions, i.e. solutions that do not involve the yellow or pink wheel.

A
B
C
D (bare with it, it takes a little while for the large stone to fall)
E
Another one around the bend

Otherwise, I really like conveyor belts
A
B
C

Some other fun stuff
tank treads
An elevator
A tow truck

AHAH
In this one (on my computer) the red ball comes like 10 pixels away from entering totally the target area... and then the digger rolls back to the begining anf FAILS

Funniest ever :)

Oh man, I love that game. I agree, it's pretty amazing the variety of solutions that people come up with. Part of the fun is just browsing through the other solutions.

Here are some designs that I am proud of:

Level 13:

Level 20:

Caution, don't click those if you don't want to be spoiled.

Nice level 20 lol. I remember playing this game at work, hours of fun.

When your number 2 failed, it hard barged its way all the way up only to get a ball stuck underneath it, then it flew all the way back down and off the end.

Oh yes, I love this game. I played it up till level 12 from a while back then stopped because I was too busy. Nevertheless, these are designs that I am proud of:

Doesn't work on some computers. for some reason one of the balls could get stuck on its foot.

I just had to take that out of context. ;D

(But the same thing happened on my computer. Epic fail!)

I prefer the indirect powered ones.

I lost all of mine since I reformatted a while back.

oh yeah and snake beats all. Just chain a bunch of yellow wheels together and it will find it's way to the end most of the time :P

Wow, those are some inspired designs. I like how none of them use cheap tricks, like creating a heavy weight by making a ton of small wooden pieces in one spot. (lots of other powerless solutions do that, it seems kind of lame to me).

But.. your 'E' links to the same thing as 'B'. Is there another one that was supposed to go there?

Yeah, I don't like those ones either.

I can't see them here at work right now. E was supposed to be the Mars level, I think, but I might have forgotten that I already linked to it with B.

Higher, unpowered

First time through I did this with two powered wheels rolling towards each other. Turned out that I couldn't convert that into an unpowered design (thought I could make gravity do the work, but it wasn't feasible within the provided space - too shallow, and hard to make a sturdy enough platform), so I came up with this simpler idea instead.

Down Under (unpowered, but it's hard to imagine how power would really help much there. I like the design here, though.)

On a Roll, unpowered, slightly unconventional approach, I think...

There is some positively insane stuff on Youtube. And to think I was impressed with capn's stuff last night. ;)

Also, someone did this unpowered design for Up the Hump. I thought that was pretty amazing considering how much difficulty I was having with it the first time through (ended up just copying the boring old simple design. BTW, the tutorial really ought to make it explicit that you can attach wheels directly to the payload...)
