Hey I am completely new to these forums, due to not knowing they exsitsted until a few days ago. So far it seems this is the absolute best place to start out! So after some consideration I decided to jump into it with both feet and see how it goes. About me: I'm a 23 year old norwegian currently based in Cork, Ireland. I have done creative writing for 12 years, but haven't really done it seriously until 4 years ago. I am currently working on my portfolio both for writing and a 3d max one, but writing is my passion. Background: Most of my creativity has gone into roleplaying. It's been mostly Dungeons and Dragons 3rd and 3.5 edition. (The A DnD period was over when I started playing), but I have also written 2 campaigns for Modern d20, 1 for Vampire Dark Ages, and I'm currently working on a Dark Heresy one, while going through my 7th DnD 3.5 campaign. Note: WHen I say written campaigns I mean successfull ones that have a start and a finish. I have several more short stories and campaigns that just ended for various reasons as well. I have also worked as a MMO journalist for tothegame.com. Unfortunatly they had to cut back on reviews and are currently mostly just a game site providing information for other sites. For them I previewed and reviewed Dungeons and Dragons Online, WOrld of Warcraft the Burning Crusade, RF Online, and a few others I cant remember from the top of my head. What I'm looking for: So far I have been writing for myself and my players, but rarely worked with others. Good thing about this is that I have taught myself how to activily critisize myself when I write and work accordingly. THe closest I have been to work on a project where someoen has pushed me into writing about specific spots is when my main RP group was pushing me into a fully demonic campaign, wich brought its natural challanges. That beeing said I know I work well under directions and take my writing very seriously and I'm not afraid of critisism in any way shape or form. I got tons of written samples if anyone deem it nessescary to read through. Ending: If I failed at providing enough information feel free to post whats missing and I'll update it.

Malazan Project is currently working on the ‘mod-demo’ for a new Role-Playing Game. The game is set in the world of The Book of the Fallen, written by Steven Erikson. The Design team feels that the incredible breadth of the world, the depth of the characters, and the complexities of the socio-political environment will lead to an unforgettable gaming experience. The potential for a SP RPG and a MMORPG is immense. The author of the series, Steven Erikson has offered removed support for these projects.
The Malazan Project team wants to offer a rarity in today’s gaming world, a full immersion Role-Playing Game. Imagine a world of unlimited choices, not the traditional Good vs. Evil. A character can be whoever and act however they want. You could fill the traditional roles of warrior or mage etc, or perhaps a merchant, priest or soldier in the Malazan army. Dabble in politics, start a mercenary band or build a financial Empire. The choice is yours to make!
We have open discussions on our forum. All opinions are welcome, just click the link below. The Development Team is also looking for additional members. Moddellers, Texturers, Scripters, Programmers and Concept Artists follow this Link to a new world.

Your first challenge is to spell 'challenge'.

Actually I've been a bit of an ass about this lately, but it's annoying to see 'writer available' posts which contain spelling and grammatical errors. No one here will be recruiting an editor to go along with their writer(s), so I think it's important that a writer show they can proof their own work.

Hey there,

I am a member of a small team developing a unique game, I realize that the other posts here are for significantly larger projects , but I am posting nonetheless because our game is quite different from any others.

Basically we are three students participating in the Imagine cup(http://imaginecup.com/Competition/mycompetitionportal.aspx?competitionId=21). Our Game , called "U", is a non combat , point and click puzzler game , with a lot of room for a good story. The basic plot of the game heavily revolves around the theme for this years Imagine cup which is :"Imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems facing us today."

In the game, the player takes on the role of a member of an NGO , which is trying to set up new offices in remote locations across the world and trying to solve problems existing there by doing actual on ground work.

The game itself is quite simple with quite a few different challenges for the player to sort his way through. One of the most important characteristics is that the game in itself is more of a journalistic effort which tries to educate people to the problems of the day, this , is the main reason why we are looking for an experienced writer, we wish to have a moving story, which not only involves the player in the game , but also moves him in a way so as to inspire some sentiment towards the less fortunate.

Our team has already crossed the first round and the work on the game has begun in earnest, we do have a basic starting point where the story is to begin, but it would go a long way if we had an experienced writer onboard.

As you would Imagine , we are students , so we will not be able to pay you at this time, but you will be duly credited for all your help and we may even discuss some payment if we win a cash prize in the competition.

Also, if you are interested our team is currently composed only of 3 people, two Indian Programmers and one Norwegian Artist.
We also have someone helping us out with the sound aspects of the game.

If you would like to know more details about the project, drop me a line at : nikhilraktale@gmail.com
or add me on skype : nikhil.raktale
