hi everybody I want to use environment mapping technique, so I've implemented the Emboss technique (as in the DX 9 emboss sample, a rotating tiger). My problem is in creating a suitable texture for use as my emboss texture. I've even downloaded the Nvidia Photoshop plugin (Emboss & DDS filters) but I cannot make the expected effect with EMBOSSED textures made in photoshop. The DDS texture used in DX 9 emboss sample (rotating tiger) doesn't seem to be normal mapped, but works good in showing embosses, but when I apply nvidia photoshop filter on my texture, it turns into a normal mapped texture which doens't work correctly in emboss technique, how can I achieve textures as the emboss1.dds (used on the rotating tiger body)? is light place very important? How can make this special DDS file (which format? what kind of procedure?) thanks in advance
