Why?

What's it about?

Who are you and what experience do you have with whatever it is you're writing about?

I'm not about to go read your book without knowing anything about it or you. It could about the life cycle of earth worms, a subject I have no interest in.

"You sort the polygons by the Z values then draw them from closest to furthest"
That isn't painter's algorithm, it's the complete opposite.

Not to mention that it's typically impractical to do sorting at the polygon level.

So it's a short story of your knowledge of 3D graphics?

Like the guy in the Prius said "Thaanks!" in south park.

Where can I buy that awesomeness?

Oh hai, ma book:

Realistic Image Synthesis using Ray Tracing

...

Chap 10, Path tracing

At first ya shoot yer ray straight into tha scene and find the nearest intersection. You can do that by the formula "x = f(r)", where f is yer scene intersection function.

Then you go straight into yer loop and increment tha ray to the intersection and apply some brdf and stuff and perturb tha new outgoing direction and begin again and your image will converge to tha correct solution and you apply those steps for all pixels and if you want anti aliasing I recommend to get a book on anti aliasing or stuff.

Iz not reddy yet.

Hey, check out the beginnings of my MMORPG! It don't compile yet though.

MSG msg;while(1){    while (PeekMessage( &msg, NULL, 0, 0, PM_REMOVE))    {        // dispatch the message        TranslateMessage(&msg);        DispatchMessage(&msg);    }}

Not sure why don't compile, but is OpenGL or is Direct3d?

Is in 3D. And their willbe 50,0000 players and I'm will use my laptop as the game server...... But for now It'o not finished yet.

Don't forget databases are overrated. For a player number as small as 500000 you can get away with using a text file to store stats and other important stuff. And no need to keep it open - just create a new handle and open/close the file for every IO request, its more efficient that way.

fopen("mygameserverdata.txt", "r");

Seriously though, rcszigeti, no one is going to be interested or give you encouragement until you've:

a) shown that you know what you're talking about

b) produced enough material (maybe a whole chapter?) that's it's actually going to be useful to someone

c) sorted out your writing style (grammar, punctuation, spelling)

Once you've done these things you may get a better (less mocking) response.

Regards.
