Need help for Linear Programming Hello everybody, i am currently having internship and i have to come out with a optimized schedule for a company by MINIMIZING THE LABOUR COST. This company is a watch outlet. The shops had some constraints that i am having problem converting it to formula for linear programming. They are 3 types of worker, part timer($6/hr), promoter(7/hr) , assistance supervisor(10/hr). The following are the constraints of the outlet. Outlet 1: 1)Only promoter and assistance supervisor are able to open the shop and close the shop. 2)There must be 2 workers to close the shop, It can be a part timer with a promoter or a part timer with an assistance supervisor. 3)A part timer would need to work at least 5 hours if he is fit into the schedule. 4)The shop is operating from 9am-11pm. 5)There will be an 1 and a half hour break for workers working full shift. 6)A target of 192 hours should be hit to efficently make full use of the full timer as they are not paid hourly but monthly. The pay giving above is a guage that i had calculated. 7)If a worker works more than 8hr per day(excluding breaks),he/she will be given Overtime Pay, and Overtime pay will be 1.5 times the normal pay. 8)Breaks for promoter and assistance supervisor are not consider as working hours but it does for part timer. In other words, promoter and assistance supervior are not paid for their break. While Part timers are paid. I hope you understand my situation and would be able to help me out. A great thank you for reading this. I would greatly appreaciate your help. Fixed all-caps title. -- jpetrie

This sounds very similar to a problem my algorithms professor talked about way back when I was doing undergrad. Check out this link. It sounds suspiciously similar to what you're trying to do.
