Is it possible for the whole GDnet community to work on a free voluntary spare time "project" like a mini 2d game for the example? I'm just curious if Its possible to create a free project that anyone could work on- off and on or for an easy small time span of their spare time. (Tried to start one but didn't go well, as it is meant to be a casual and free-form freeware/shareware deal, with no binding contracts. That's beside the point though.) Thank You...(for your reply, I won't be responding just reading its not a debate question or something like it.) CC :]

It's been tried a few times before. It doesn't work because everybody has their own ideas of what the project should be, nobody's reliable, and the experts who stand a chance of corralling such a project towards some kind of progress are usually too busy working on other things.
