It seems to me that there is no declaration of D3DXVECTOR3 in D3DX 11. As such I have a few questions for the gurus: 1) Should I be using D3DX10 to get those structures and functions? 2) Should I just not be using the D3DX structures and make my own vector and matrix classes/structures? 3) Is D3DXVECTOR3 defined somewhere else that doesn't require me linking both D3DX10 and D3DX11 (i.e. am I just not including the right file)? I just want to make sure I'm doing things the right way. Thanks for any help.

Right on. Thanks for pointing that out.

You should be able to use D3DX10 properly with 11. As for having to link both, D3DX10Math.h looks like it includes an inline part. There's a good chance (hadn't tried it yet) it has everything you need to compile. You could give just including it a roll and see if it breaks. [On second thought, that would never work]

Also, why is linking D3DX10 a problem? Anything with 11 support should have the 10 dlls, I would think.

It wasn't necessarily a problem; it just felt wrong. Seemed like I should only need to link against one version, not two.
