I am sure not many people will recall that I'm not working in IT. At the beginning of this year, I was asked to support one of our partners for a inspection in African country. I was pretty impressed by how knowing English allowed me to take this chance as everyone would expect English should be well-know basically everywhere in 2010 and mine still isn't 100% perfect, anyway... I went to the public health office to get immunized against those few diseases I might get there (3) and found out that I missed one in the past. I had to go with 4 vaccinations in a day. While I'd rather keep me away from needles, I wasn't exactly happy of getting 4 times the stress in a single shot, but I was told the plane was waiting for me and after all, the chance a vaccination goes bad is basically zero. I was somewhat scared by the results. After a few hours, I started to feel quite dizzy, which I have been told to expect. A few days after I woke up and found my arm blood red, just like having some small dried bubbles. I called the medic just in case. A few days later everything was fine, although not certainly a pleasurable experience... Yesterday I went to work and I've been told that my presence is no more needed on first flight, and the second inspection is probably taking place sometime in spring. That's wonderful.
