With the world torn to shreds by the war to end all wars, a new society is born. Five nation-states arise from the ashes of the old world; together, they control all of the earth's landmass. The leaders of these states gather in a peace conference in New Paris to determine how to run this new world. Their goal: prevent the self-eradication of the human race. Unfortunately, the meeting is a complete failure. we need a LEAD PROGRAMMER

Your team structure does list a lead programmer. What happened to him/her?

*he doesn't have much time at the moment so he asked if we could get another lead to take over his place and he do minor work

angelfun, you're hiring a lot of programmers (16 if I've counted correctly). Are you sure you need 16 programmers? Can you manage 16 programmers? Why do you need 3 network programmers, but only 2 graphics programmers? It sounds to me like you just called rand()%3+1 in a loop for every position you needed to fill. :) I suggest you trim your open positions a bit, because I don't think 16 programmers is really what you need. As the saying goes, too many cooks spoil the broth.

I'd also like to know what role you had planned for yourself. I take it you're Brion -- "owner, programmer and designer"? What's your programming background? Have you worked in the industry as a game designer or programmer? I'm asking because I, and many others, like to know a bit about the leader of a team like this given how many projects like this one fail every day.

Yes,
we do need that many programmers doesn't really matter people come and leave so its good to have others to take place.
I can manage such a team also with professional commercial experience I currently don't have that to offer, but I do program with c++ with about 3-4 years of experience and also messed with opengl.

Also i have been doing game development for sometime now(designer, etc roles)

What kind of scripting do you require? If you're using Lua as a scripting language, I could help out there. I have plenty of experience with Lua and know it inside out from creating Garry's Mod scripts (google it).

I don't know where this project currently stands but.. I have over 2 years C++ experience, and could fill many of the positions listed. Graphically the only problem is, I use the irrlicht engine for rendering, so I'm pretty fluent with that engine, but have hardly touched ogre.. But I can work on general gaming logic (I've used scripting languages before C++ so am even more fluent in such) and am currently using cAudio in a side audio project of mine, so I could help there.. If you haven't gotten far graphically and were willing to switch to irrlicht, i could take on positions graphically and UI-wise. If you aren't willing to make the switch, then I'm willing to fill in for any other programming field needed :).

Please let me know if your interested,
-Des

Given you've been working on the project for a couple of months now and list 3 programmers as already having joined the team, have they produced anything you can show off yet? Development screenshots, a working demo, perhaps a video of something in action?
