Hey people, Is it possible to develop game in java without any big troubles? I feel comfortable with this language, but still unsure if it is good idea. I am afraid that there might be some problems with 3d engine or other technology. I am not planning to do anything big or complex, just simple turn based online strategy, which could also be my school project.

Hehe, there's no way to finish anything w/o troubles. Online simple application games are mostly developed under Java now-a-days, so just try it anyway. As long as you can solve those troubles that's all it matters.

Java is more than capable of a "simple turn based online strategy" game in the hands of a skilled programmer. If you're comfortable with the language then go ahead with your project -- if you go looking for "the perfect language" or such things you'll just end up wasting a lot of time you could spend solving actual problems and creating your game.
