Is there a way to make an MMORPG programmed in Blitzmax? like a server and a client and what language would be the best for making these?

From some quick reading in the BlitzMax forums, it certainly sounds possible, but is not recommended. Here are the posts I read:

I think, somebody whose only programming experience is still from the BlitzXY language family should probably keep his fingers off anything beginning with "MMO" - Although I've never done MMO-Stuff myself before I imagine that it requires a lot of low-level knowledge to get it up and running fine. Might lead to severe frustration and aborted projects as MMOs sure require a LOT more experience than regular multiplayer games.

Before you select a technology, I suggest you figure out what your game should do.
What is the world? How do players enter the world? How do players interact in the world?
Where is player data stored, and how is it accessed?
How do you build the world, and all the rules for interaction?
How much work is it to build all of that (content, game design, quests, QA, etc)

Once you understand all that (without writing a single line of code yet!) you can start looking for languages and libraries that might help you actually implement the games and design tools you need.
