Gtk question

Okay, I have 2 tables (left_table and right_table). I want them both to be visible in the same window, at the same time. Is this possible? If so, how? Right now, if I try to add and show both tables, only left_table shows (probably because I add it first). Here is the relevant code (it's in perl, but it should be almost the same in C):

# We want the right table to be on the, uh, right of the left table
# so we change its x coord a bit...

$right_table->set_uposition(290, 15);

$window->add($left_table);
$window->add($right_table);

$left_table->show();
$right_table->show();
