Hi I'm looking for a lone sprite artist to help me make some simple 16x16 sprites for a NES/Gameboy-style game. I'm a C++/OpenGL programmer and I'm itching to make a new game. I've created side-scrollers in the past so I have experience, it's just a matter of getting some art first.

Obviously a game like this has no market so no compensation is offered. It's purely a hobby project for someone who has a soft spot for classic RPGs or sidescrollers.

Sorry I know I'm not posting a lot of info, just short and sweet.

Top view sprites, front view, or at an angle?

Top down or side view, doesn't really matter. I don't even really care about the plot of the game either, as long as it's NES/Gameboy style.

Are there really no pixel artists on this forum??? Or do they all expect to be paid in advance?

Right... well I can see this was a waste of time.

You might have better luck by following the mandatory posting template and providing some information about your former game projects.

Some screenshots or even better: a demo version to play around with often does wonders. Artists are rare to find, so without any proof that you actually have what it takes to pull such a project off, you prolly won't find one here.

They expect to get something out of your project. You said, "Obviously a game like this has no market," which (not only is incorrect (see Robot Wants Kitty), but) tells us you expect hardly anyone to actually play your game when it's done. That leaves a pixel artist with little reason to draw sprites for such a game that he didn't make up himself.
