Good afternoon,

First of all, I'd like to establish that the point of this thread is to offer a service instead of looking for one, like most of the other threads within this forum section.

Since its a lot of content, I'll do my best to write this thread properly and divide it into sections hopefully, it will be small and straightforward.

Who are we?
At this point, we go by the name "JFree Team" so I'll refer to us that way. Like the title says, we are a 12 man team (11 programmers and one representative) offering server-side services, for all types of online games: ranging from FPS to MMO. We have a 4 year experience working as a team, mainly on our core project (L2jFree). Besides L2jFree, we also have other private creations such as client parsers, client decrypters, web design amongst others. L2jFree is an emulator for the popular MMO game Lineage 2, it has been considered throughout the years the top emulator in the web and although it is currently outdated, its power persists.
Most of the members reside in different locations, in fact, we work remotely. In most cases that would be a problem, but since we maintain a continuous and consistent flow of communication, it allows a better team integration for each member.
What exactly can we do?
Like stated previously, we can offer a wide variety of services, yet our main passion and purpose, is to create server-side software. Currently we are planning on building a new version of L2jFree from scratch, eliminating a lot of flaws we used to have, created by yet another team, with that said if you wish to see how far we go, feel free to check our old SVN. Obviously, if hired, the L2jFree project will be left untouched to provide full attention to your needs.Currently, we work with Java, XML, SQL, Python and Jython, although if the client wishes, other languages can be added or replace the current ones (e.g. replacing Java with C++ as the main engine language).
Would our product be based on your previous work?
No. Besides our base framework - a framework we designed intended for massive online games otherwise known as MMOs - everything will be done from scratch. This way, we can ensure the client's specifications will be met to the last word.
I believe all major points have been covered, if you feel a need to communicate or have some questions you would like to see answered, feel free to reply on the current thread or send me a private message.

SVN HTTP: http://svn.l2jfree.com/l2jfree/

Sincerely,

Horus @ JFree.

Small bump since, for some reason, the thread isn't being displayed properly.

What sort of compensation does your team seek? Paid? Profit share? Or simply volunteer?

At this point, since we have other projects where we're working on and to start a new project we would have to leave the other ones, paid compensation is in fact very important, although if the project in question does seem to have a future so to speak then we might go with profit share.
If you are still interested, feel free to send me some prototype images, game information, client team information and so on.

Thanks in advance.

Just a random question here, but what security do people have of there network code then? for example someone hires you to make servers for there mmorpg, and it is successful you could easily undercut there hole studio for your own profit and as you said you are a international group of guys so tho legal action is possible it would be next to impossible to actually track everyone down.

i don't mean you would ever do something like that, but seeing as your past work is with making emulators for the public it just raises the question.

That's in fact a good question. But the answer is quite simple: if we start working with someone now, then we intend on doing that in the new future even for other potential clients. Which means, that if we decided to e.g. sell items to players, we would lose the opportunity to keep working in this line of business, since we would be labelled as "scammers". We take our work very seriously, we've all have had - some built for ourselves, others for other entities - private gaming servers throughout the years and until the date, none of us has had a single complaint.

I do understand your concern, but at this point we aren't established as a registered company, if however we get paid work, all of that might change pretty quick.

Hopefully that cleared some of your points.
