Project name: iLearner App
Brief description:
The app assists people attempting to obtain their learners drivers licence. It walks them through the pre-driving lesson tasks(check brake lights, align mirrors & seat), & records data during a driving lesson(distance traveled, road type, weather conditions). In Australia, to obtain your provisional licence you have to fill out a log book that documents each driving lesson you have performed, the road type you drove on, the weather, the distance you travelled, etc. So this app will assist a user in recording & filling out this information in their log book.
I require a graphic designer to design the GUI & GUI elements for each screen.
Target aim: Sale on the Android Market & in the Apple App Store(CAVEAT: Apples app submission is strict so there are no guarantee's it will pass submission, regardless of whether it is accepted or not you will still be compensated(paid)).
Compensation:
- $100 AUD(Australian Dollars) - paid only through PayPal
- Your name on each screen of the app. For example "Graphic Design by YOUR NAME - YOUR WEBSITE HERE"
- A link to your website(which may have your portfolio or what ever) on each screen.
- Ability & Authority to distribute the app for free to whoever you wish(helpful when promoting yourself & providing examples of your work/portfolio)
This is a good opportunity for someone at University/College doing an arts degree. Having a live app in the Android/Apple market would look good for your portfolio
Technology: The app is developed in the Cross Smart Phone platform API called Mosync which is a C++ based API. It allows the developer to code one app that can run in iOS, Android, Symbian & Windows Mobile. Rest assured the code is compiled to OS native code meaning the app uses the OS API widgets/buttons, ie has the look & feel of a regular iOS/Android app. The API allows a programmer to create graphic intense & unique looking app but there are graphics limitations with current smart phones, especially Androids bitmap budget - this means a graphic designer will have to keep this in mind when designing the GUI. Photographic/highly detailed images should not be used, & images itself should be used sparingly.
Talent needed:
1 x Graphic Designer:
- There are 3 screens to design. The objective is to create an easy to use GUI design for each screen.
Artwork required:
- Generic Button - up(unpressed)
- Generic Button - down
- App Icon (which will also be the logo)
- Navigation Button - up
- Navigation Button - down
GUI Design Required(For example; using the above artwork you have designed you will design the layout & background of each screen so it is functional & looks good):
Main Screen:
- Header image (should contain the name of the app)
- Begin Driving Lesson button(each button will use the generic design you created above)
- View Log Button
- Export Log Button
- Practice Provisonal Test Button
- Nav bar(contains back button, credits button, menu button)
Driving Lesson Screen: The following screen should be displayed so that it is easy to understand what each feature is for & easy to navigate
- Input box to specify driving instructor name & label
- Checkbox to toggle GPS tracking
- Weather type display(simple graphic that depicts/represents the current weather)
- pane that contains the GPS map
- editbox that displays the distance travelled so far.
Previous Driving lesson Summary Screen:
- List all the previous driving lessons
- Display attributes about a currently selected driving lesson. Attributes=weather, road surface type, distance travelled, start suburb, end suburb, name of driving instructor, etc.
- Theres alot of information on this page so it may be hard to display all this information.
Team structure: I am developing the app myself, only 30% done. Other than me theres noone else.
