Team name:

Redcoat Games

Project name:

Tentative title is "Quest!"

Brief description:

Our team is building a 2D, turn-based, fantasy role playing game set in a world full of evil creatures and deadly traps. Users are able to play as various types of characters such as the warrior, priest, mage, rogue, or archer. Each character class has many different types of skills to learn to navigate the underground dungeons, slay fearsome monsters, and capture lost treasures. The main storyline follows the adventures of a group of dwarven treasure hunters as they explore caves and dungeons in search of gold and artifacts that bring them further adventures as they attempt to unlock the mysteries of the ancient histories and prophecies.

Target aim:

We plan to sell this game through XBox Live Arcade and Steam. Our goal for release is June 2012.

Compensation:

Since we are a brand new indie developer, we don't have any budget for compensation. What we are offering, essentially, is experience in creating and shipping a game. However, there is a possibility that depending on how well the game sells, monetary compensation will be provided. We will discuss percentage of compensation before the game is released and provide this in writing.

Technology:

The target systems will be XBox and PC. Our lead programmer already has a dev-kit and necessary licenses (having worked at Microsoft)

Talent needed:

We are in need of an artist 2D or 3D to work with our level designers to create the look and feel of our maps. You will be responsible for creating wall, floors, and doors (dungeons, caves, and outdoor areas), various environment items within the maps such as chests, trees, braziers, chairs, furniture, etc, and creating the look of the Guild Hall, which is the main area where the users obtain quests, purchase equipment and skills, and talk with NPCs.

Candidate does NOT need experience, but we do require you to have:

  • Good communication skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to complete tasks on time
  • Ability to attend weekly meetings via Skype. Meetings are Tuesdays at 8pm (est)

      Previous Work by Team:

Our lead programmer has shipped or worked on:

      Guitar Hero: On Tour
Guitar Hero: On Tour 2: Decades
      Mixed Messages
      Band Hero DS
      Kinect Adventures

I have shipped or worked on:

      Madden 2001
      NCAA 2002
      Madden 2002
      Nascar Thunder 2002

      Additional Info:

Our game has been under design for over 2 years. Before deciding to create this video game, we built out the game as a board game (think along the lines of the board game Descent) and play tested it with a group of friends. So we feel that we have an exciting and intriguing game that has the potential to be a popular video game.
