where are the old articles. e.g: physics of racing parts 1 to 17.

They are here in this category

But since we don't have these pages all set to go yet, your best bet is to use the search bar. Look in Resources. We also still have to clean up the search results...

In fact they are here http://archive.gamedev.net/archive/reference/index.html
Please add an "archives" button temporarily.

All the articles you can find on the archive site are available here through the Search box. You can no longer search the archive site.

just search for "physics for racing" at both of the search boxes one at here and other at archives site. You will find how convenient and relevant is the search at archives.

You're not searching the archives you're searching the web with google set to the GameDev.net domain. You'll notice all the results point back to this site, not the archive. If you use the actual site search bar at the top of the archive site not on the Resources page you'll get an error.

It is better than our search when showing results. I have no idea what Invision was thinking putting the entire article content in the search results page. Fixing that is on our ToDo list.

The way the article sections were setup on the old site was much more helpful when just browsing. A lot of those old articles (especially some of the isometric & hex ones, like this) have become almost canonical, and right now the categories are so broad, and actually getting to the article archive is rather difficult, that it is really much easier to use google to search Gamedev.net than to actually use the site.

That's how we intend it to be. Just search for what you want and bam, there it is. Let us know if you have trouble finding anything, although I've found the Google search to be quite good at pulling up what I need. Still, if you arrive on a page and it's not quite what you want we have been working to make it easy to find what you want from there. For instance there's the "Related Stuff" tab that may have what you want or there's easy access from there to the category you're most likely to find what you want in.

Ironically the "Related Stuff" tab on this post has direct links to those physics of racing articles. Also, we are heavily overhauling our articles section.. it's on of our top priorities.
