Hello GameDev Community,

I am programming in C++ since 3 years, and wanted to begin with Graphics Programming.
So far I know it´s a fundamental to know linear algebra to programm graphics systems but I am visiting the high school in the 9th grade.
And we only did Linear Equations,Functions inc. Graphing them.
Could you recommend me Books to start with 3D Mathmatics ?

hope you can help me.

kind regards

Realtime renderingis a very good book giving an excellent overview over graphics and necessary linear algebra.

An other good book seems to be Mathematics for 3d Game programming.

Thanks for the Reply!
I own these but it´s not easy to understand except Real-Time Rendering.
Are there maybe another Books ?

Danke dir!
Thanks.

I suggest books like this:
Lineare Algebra: Eine Einführung für Studienanfänger

Or you just lend out books from the school library or the public library of your city.
I also started in the 9th class with books like this, later I buyed some books in english from the web...
I can not present you an exact list of good books, because I use many books that I already forget.

You can look at Amazon or as a german at Bücher.de.

Ja ja... hier sind schon einige Deutsche unterwegs... Viel Glück beim lernen ;)

I recommend the khan academy videos.
I also learned my math online from Paul dawkins's tutorials. I did calc II,II,III,DE and Lin alg.

Thank you Ömer Can!
Danke sehr Ömer Can!

Hab mir dass Buch mal Probegelesen, also dass ist ja mal Studentendeutsch und liest sich schwer.
Bin Realschüler wäre dass für mein Niveau geeignet ?
Ich denke es gibt keine einfacheren oder ?

I think there are some books who are easier. Maybe some Gymnasium Math books... But I don't know where you live, on my province there is no linear algebra book for "Realschüler", you should use some "Gymnasium" books... I think you'd understand it... If you understand C++ and Software developing you can also understand normal Math
With motivation and hard work anything can be done.

PS: Maybe some books from here can you help: List

If you ever have the chance to actually follow these courses it will greatly speed up your learning process. Me and my friend are going to an engineering school. We went from having absolutely no mathematical background to covering Calc 1,2,3 and Linear equations in 1 year. We skipped most theorems that prove why most relations exist though.
[size=1]I "surf" the web, literally.

I will take a look thank you!

I suggest "The Humongous Book of Algerbra Problems" by W.Michael Kelly. It's cheap and very helpful ;)

I will take a look thank you too!

I personally really love how good the Khan Academy videos are and how simply they explain stuff. I'm studying IT Engineering and we had pretty fast courses for math and physics and I pretty much almost failed them, still need to redo Newton physics but after I have been watching Khan Academy videos I have grasped much more how to actually calculate something.
