Hi All,

would you please check that demo and check those things ?

1. Collision detection, is it working proper or not ? and how to fix it ?
2. aspect ratio
..etc

You might want to attach something to your post. But i bet you can test a game that small yourself.

I attached it sorry. I feel there are problems but I don't know how to solve them exactly. A check from experts won't hurt

The collision detection only partially works. I could collide with asteroids and nothing happened. My bullets could collide with the enemy saucer and nothing happened. My bullets did collide with the asteroids, but the detection seemed off. Are you using bounding box collision? It looks like BB collision with too large a box. Telling you how to fix it is impossible, as we don't know what you're doing.

It's also possible to move off the screen for a while before looping around to the other side of the screen.

@LennyLen

I know all the mentioned stuff, I'm just curios about the collision between the bullets and the asteroids only and nothing more. I'm using a circle to circle collision, and I calculated the maximum radius of the asteroid and the center of it and made a circle out of it.

Can you explain what do you mean by detection seemed off ?

and what do you meen by moving off the screen ?

I have just tested and I think what LennyLen means by:

My bullets did collide with the asteroids, but the detection seemed off.

Is that the bullet can hit an asteroid quite far away from its visible outline, and still score a hit thereby breaking/destroying an asteroid.

Another issue is that once you start moving without changing direction as well as accelerating, you can go in one direction at the same speed forever. It seems like there should be a form of deceleration after a period of thrust inactivity.

Stitchs.
