Has anyone else been recieving these damned things? ---------------------------------------------------- U N I V E R S I T Y D I P L O M A S Obtain a prosperous future, money earning power, and the admiration of all. Diplomas from prestigious non-accredited universities based on your present knowledge and life experience. No required tests, classes, books, or interviews. Bachelors, masters, MBA, and doctorate (PhD) diplomas available in the field of your choice. No one is turned down. Confidentiality assured. CALL NOW to receive your diploma within days!!! 1 - 4 1 2 - 2 9 1 - 1 5 1 5 or 1 - 6 0 2 - 7 9 8 - 7 6 9 0 Call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including Sundays and holidays. ---------------------------------------------------- I''ve gotten about 20 of the 1337 e-mails. They''re really pissing me off. Anyone else pissed off about them? Pissed off is good! Let''s get''em back! Anyone know enough about the internet that we might be able to flood them? The e-mail addresses they use keep changing, or are duped, so that''s kindof hard. I''ve got a computer I''m willing to donate to getting one on them. I called the number from work and it''s just a normal voice mail box. Maybe I could set up a dialer on my box that just keeps calling them and leaving short messages so the dumbasses who have to look through them need some extra time? I''M SOOO SICK OF THESE SPAMS! Thank you for your bandwidth, -- Succinct Here''s the "to" list I got that from: succkie@hotmail.com ; succk@hotmail.com ; succit@hotmail.com ; succis@hotmail.com ; succionator@hotmail.com ; succionalo84@hotmail.com ; succionalo@hotmail.com ; succion@hotmail.com ; succinylcholine@hotmail.com ; succint@hotmail.com ; succino@hotmail.com ; succinite@hotmail.com ; succinic_acid@hotmail.com ; succinic24@hotmail.com ; succinic@hotmail.com ; succine@hotmail.com ; succinct_online@hotmail.com ; succinct72@hotmail.com ; succinate@hotmail.com ; succigru@hotmail.com ; succi_32@hotmail.com ; succi77@hotmail.com ; succi71@hotmail.com ; succi58@hotmail.com ; succi4@hotmail.com ; succi27@hotmail.com ; succi2@hotmail.com ; succi007@hotmail.com ; succhy@hotmail.com ; succhs@hotmail.com ; succhit@hotmail.com ; succulent_86@hotmail.com ; succulent_69@hotmail.com ; succulent_21@hotmail.com ; succulent_2001@hotmail.com ; succulent99@hotmail.com ; succulent87@hotmail.com ; succulent83@hotmail.com ; succulent79@hotmail.com ; succulent75@hotmail.com ; succulent7@hotmail.com ; succulent69@hotmail.com ; succulent67@hotmail.com ; succulent60@hotmail.com ; succulent50@hotmail.com ; succulent42@hotmail.com ; succulent4@hotmail.com ; succulent36@hotmail.com ; succulent28@hotmail.com

Yeah I have recieved several of these. Never bothered to call or anything, it is probably some kind of scam where you pay them, leave your info, then they contact you and take your money, you never get anything.

I get a lot of them too. Really annoying, but not nearly annoying as the spam I get that ends with "This is not spam. You are receiving this message because you entered your e-mail address into a form on our website." Never mind that the message is about receiving my breast size... What''s funny is that often these messages are sent to addresses like writers@gamedev.net, which forwards to me, but I never use anywhere.

Yup, over the time I got a couple of these as well.

Actually, I believe they do sent the diploma. $100 for a piece of paper.. Why not?

Hotmail has a weak filtering system. Block all emails whose subject is "University Diplomas" or a domain from where most come from.

I get alot of those, I also get spammed with porn, debt consolidation, supposed free trips to the bahamas, internet space, free magazine subscriptions, and lots lots more.

I only use two email addresses, hotmail and ignmail and they both suck. Anyone wanna suggest some goodones?

I use a yahoo account in addition to a couple of accounts on my webserver. I''ve never had *any* spam to the account, and I don''t even use their optional spam-filters.

The flash ads are annoying, so I usually only connect to them through lynx.

Another handy trick to avoid spam is to set up a devnull account somewhere. Set up a cron job to flush the mail file for that account to /dev/null every 24 hours, and use that for any correspondence that you find questionable (like being required to enter an e-mail address to download an SDK from microsoft ) Only check it when you know you''re expecting something, otherwise just let the spammers fire away in futility.

Yeah, just what you need...a couple of degrees from places like ''Harvarde'' and ''CallTech''. Geezuz...society is in a sad state when people won''t even do their 3 or 4 yrs to get an undergrad degree.

Ditch Hotmail and go to Yahoo like pwd said. I did just that and dropped my spam count from about 35-50/day to maybe 1-2/month, also without using the filters.

You should keep hotmail as your spam magnet. Whenever some site wants you to sign up, send them the junk email address and only give your friends your real email address.

Besides, don''t Universities give out Degrees, not Diplomas?

I use Hotmail and get very little spam(1-10 a day). I use filters though.

I have many yahoo email addresses and the porn freakin stacks up on a daily basis. When I log in, inbox says 23 new messages, 22 are porn. The 23rd is from one of those "this is not spam" emails.

Yeah, I get tons of those. It also tells you that it is a scam right in the e-mail. The key word is non-accredited. This basically means that Joe Blow decided one day that he was gonna create a new business and call it the University of Dumbasses and if anyone sent him $100.00, he would spend $0.55 to print and send a piece of paper saying, congradulations, you are our newest dumbass.

Yep, that's what I do. And like someone else said, the big problem areas for spam are porn, university diplomas, and debt consolidators. BAHHHHHHHH

Yeah I do, but I haven''t used it in ages and have been a bit slack with other forums which allow you to use UBB and HTML (often only UBB) code. Corrections have been made
