This is the very first demo playthrough video of Star Blitz X that we made. We are looking for feed back or suggestions to help improve our game.

To give a short description of the game. It is a 3d fps that is a homage of the 1980's arcade shoot'em up. You act on defense of protecting the earth from asteroids and missiles for one minute.

Now for the feedback or suggestion, the game takes place in the first level and we ask for improvement like adding more enemies, position of asteroids or etc. for challenge. Keep the suggestion simple because the game more of an arcade genre, and we cannot wait for your respond. Thank You.

Shooting against earth makes me feel like the bad guy
It feels a bit counter intuitive to shoot against earth with a big risk of hitting a city, the classic games usually shot from earth or a ship in the center trying to survive. Each blast hitting earth would cause a lot of damage if they can make stones larger than mountains shatter easily. If they are large enough not to burn up in the atmosphere, you would probably only give it a push in a different direction a long time before it hits earth.

Time feels off
The view of earth is assumed to be from a moon base, because of the field-of-view given by the rotating asteroids and the fact that your rear would otherwise be unprotected. I then estimate that the asteroids are traveling the 384400 kilometers in near warp speed at 0.27 times the speed of light (276 times as fast as the record), in which visible light would shift into infra red from the Doppler effect and one hit would blow the planet to pieces.

Alternatives
* Change the target with something smaller like in the classic asteroid games.
* Or show a clock going quickly like in X-Com to make the player aware that time is fast forwarded. This might however require slowing time down to make the challenge feel real to the player.
* Allow moving a ship freely.
* Or show a surrounding military base with energy shields and generators being blown up by aliens.
