I spotted that there are no websites with relevant stats about popularity of games measured by sold units. Okay, there are some like SteamSpy but the website has been struggling with accuracy after Steam changed its policy in 2018. Other websites are even worse.

So the information for AAA is quite good , but when it comes to Indie it is shit - maybe the sample size of users is too small etc.

I came up with a potential solution and was wondering if u think it is worth pursuing? In essence it would be the same as SteamSpy, just much much more accurate. So you could see what games are gaining in popularity and which game types are trending.

Do you think it would be a cool side project or am I missing something?
