My old Win95 code compiles and works perfectly under XP...

The inverse is not true though. I think DirectX 8.1 does not work properly under 95 (this has nothing to do with Win32 though).

Cheers!

Most code for Win95 should run fine on XP. With each new operating system, MS introduced newer APIs. So, if you code for XP and use some of it''s cool new APIs, then you wont be able to run that on Win95.

Basically, it''s still Win32, and Win32 hasn''t changed.

Programming in XP is nearly identical to programming on a 95/98 platform with the exception that XP adds some more functionality to the API.

Also, it only gets different when you start using the new visual styles as far as I''ve noticed.
