Hey everyone,

I'm currently in the early planning phase of a passion project:
An indie MMO-RTS inspired by **Rise of Kingdoms** – but with one major goal:
🚫 No pay-to-win. No whales. No loot boxes. Just strategy, teamwork, and fair mechanics.

### 🔥 The vision:
- Persistent world map with real-time troop movement & positioning
- PvP and PvE balance (fight over altars, rare spawns, world bosses)
- Faction-based bonuses, tech tree, logistics (population, food, upkeep)
- Events that grant meaningful rewards, including unique units or temporary buffs
- Optional fantasy elements (dragons, necromancers, etc.) – rare but powerful
- Everything earned through gameplay, not payment

### 🧠 What I’m looking for:

Since I’m still alone at this point, I’m looking to build a **small team of passionate volunteers** who want to create something unique together:

- 🎮 Programmers (Unity / Godot / Unreal – still open to engine discussions)
- 🎨 Artists (2D/3D stylized, low-poly or medieval fantasy)
- ✍️ Writers (worldbuilding, lore, story-driven events)
- 🎵 Music & sound designers (think medieval ambient + epic battle scores)
- 🧪 System designers, balance experts
- 📣 PR, community, or event designers also welcome

This is a **completely volunteer-driven project** for now. There are ideas for monetization, but monetization is not the main priority. Just a shared dream of building an RTS that’s strategic, fair, and rewarding.

I’ve already set up a Discord server where we can brainstorm, structure ideas, and begin prototyping once the right people join.

Let’s build something we actually want to play.

thats much too large a goal and completely out of scale what you can realistically achieve on a volunteer basis.

You should actually make some small games to learn what it takes to produce a game, as right now you are in no position to lead any game-dev project.

I would never recommend doing an RTS as a 1st project.

I did it in the modding space and it still took forever.

Also, you tell us nothing about your skills and background

However,

I'd b happy to discuss collaboration if you'd be interested in helping convert a mod to an indie game.

focusing on an AI faction and a human faction.

if your interested, send me a PM,.
