(the forum type is inaccurate, this is not a challenge, i selected it because i don't think the other forum types were appropriate for this topic)

So other than PC games, I also make Roblox games, I've been playing Roblox since April 2020.

I've been running out of ideas, so I need YOUR help for any game ideas. Most notably, horror games, since the Roblox algorithm likes that so much. I was also thinking of recreating Fishining in Roblox. Or this other horror game, where you have to escape the foundations, through dangerous paths, with dangerous creatures, before you get put into execution.

What do you guys think? Are my ideas good? If not, write your own!

Your escape foundations concept sounds strong, especially with unpredictable creatures and permadeath tension. Maybe add procedural paths or co-op survival elements to boost replayability and fit Roblox horror trends nicely.

Scale down instead of scale up: you're stuck in a single house and have to solve puzzles to get out meanwhile Monster X is following you the whole time. Include 3-5 escape routes from each room (ladder, vent, door, window, etc) so players can fluidly get away, and give the Monster a lunge mechanic to keep people on their toes (if it gets too close it sprints at you all scary-like).

Here's the story:

You're an innocent kid who walked into a creepy house on Halloween night. Candy pieces show up randomly around the house to tempt you and if you take them you die. The trick is to figure out how to move the candy without touching it to unlock the next puzzle. For example, you have to knock the candy off a stool into the trash to move ahead. As the game progresses, the monster- always watching in the shadows right behind you- begins complicating things by moving the candy when you try to do stuff or whatever.

Why is the monster doing this? Because it wants candy too: organs. It peels the skin off for the tasty organ treats inside and you learn this from scattered notes, environmental story telling, and audio cues in the environment. Taking the candy gives it permission to treat you like candy so you have to figure out how to “politely” reject the candy without insulting the monster (ie you can knock the candy into the trash where garbage belongs, but if you knock it onto the floor, it insults the monster).

So, a scary gameplay mechanic around a very simple hyperbolic exaggeration of a commonly understood childhood memory (in the West), of trick or treating. Relatable, simple, interesting (I think).

I play Roblox casually and yeah… horror games keep showing up nonstop lol. Maybe mix genres? Like survival + puzzle + horror instead of just running away from monsters.

unfather, nice game idea, though it's too simple. I'm gonna tweak on it and see what I make…
